The movie, which also stars Quang Tuan and Ma Ran Do, earned an additional 40 billion VND (approx. 1.63 million USD) over the weekend alone. According to Box Office Vietnam, this brings its total earnings to 137 billion VND (about 5.6 million USD) after just 10 days in theaters.

Meanwhile, the Hollywood horror film The Invisible Beasts: Deadly Grounds, which held the runner-up position last week, slipped to sixth place after grossing just 539 million VND (about 22,000 USD). Its total earnings in Vietnam now stand at 14.7 billion VND (around 600,000 USD).

The weekend also saw a wave of new releases.

The Korean comedy Drunk Driving Brother made a surprising debut at second place with 5.4 billion VND (220,000 USD).

Wicked 2: For Good, the sequel to the hit musical, performed strongly in North America but settled for third place in Vietnam, grossing 3.2 billion VND (130,000 USD) with 23,199 tickets sold across 1,721 showings.

Despite aggressive promotion, the Vietnamese film The Father’s Wedding Orders!, starring veteran actors People's Artist Hong Van, Meritorious Artist Huu Chau, and Dinh Khang, had a lackluster opening, ranking fourth with 3 billion VND (about 122,000 USD).

In fifth place was the newly released animated feature Tafiti: Desert Mayhem, which brought in 1.3 billion VND (around 53,000 USD).

This coming weekend, the box office will welcome several more contenders: the Vietnamese film The Secret of Ky Nam Inn, featuring Do Thi Hai Yen and Lien Binh Phat; the action flick Now You See Me: Vanishing Act; and the highly anticipated animated sequel Zootopia 2 from Hollywood.
