Viet Hai fishing village

Viet Hai ancient village is a small fishing village located in Cat Ba National Park in Cat Hai Island district, Hai Phong City. Covering 141ha, with about 70 households, the village has a charming landscape and rich ecosystem with sea and forest.

Located deep in the Cat Ba national forest, the village is mostly isolated from the hustle and bustle of the world.

To get to Viet Hai village, visitors can take a boat on Lan Ha Bay to Viet Hai wharf or cross the primeval forest through the Cat Ba National Park to enter the village.

Compared to other fishing villages in Cat Ba, Viet Hai still retains the typical culture of villages of the Northern Delta. Local residents earn their living by fishing and farming.

In Viet Hai, visitors can experience the life of the locals and get acquainted with the local culture. 

The activity that many tourists love the most is fishing. They join local fishermen to harvest shrimp and fish in floating houses, or do farming activities, visit livestock farms, or simply take a leisurely stroll to view the scenery as the sun sets.

Hon 7 Sao Island

Located in the east of Van Don district and northwest of the large Co To island, Hon 7 Sao Co To contains seven islands connected by smooth white sandy roads.

Hon 7 Sao Co To is endowed by nature with unique terrain and diverse resources. Its sandy roads wind in the middle of the sea. When the tide recedes, these roads appear, connecting the islands. Visitors can experience the feeling of leisurely walking on the fine sand, or when the sea water has not yet receded, feel the cool water and watch the sea snails groping for food at their feet.

As a place that few people know and where tourism has not been promoted, Hon 7 Sao Co To retains its pristine, quiet and fresh nature. There are no motels or restaurants on the island, but only snail farming households. But visitors who come to the island are enthusiastically welcomed by locals. 

In addition to swimming, walking and sightseeing, visitors can also catch snails. 

Thanh Lan island commune 

Thanh Lan island commune is located in the east of Co To island district, about 40 km from Cai Rong port (Van Don). From Cai Rong port, visitors can take a speedboat to Thanh Lan for about 1.5 hours.

Thanh Lan Island has an area of 27km2, with natural forest covering more than 70 percent of the area. There are only a few motels on the island, with a total capacity of 200-300 guests.

Visitors should rent a motorbike to explore the island.
