VietNamNet Bridge – The quadruplets Viet, Nam, Hanh and Phuc (Viet Nam Hanh Phuc – happy Vietnam) are now four years old.

Mr. Tran Huu Dong and M. Tran Thi Tinh in Tan Phu hamlet, Tan Phuoc commune, Lai Vung district, Dong Thap province became widely known after delivering quadruplets in June 2012.The babies were named after doctors Tran Thi Minh Viet, Tran Thi Minh Nam, Tran Thi Minh Hanh and Tran Thi Minh Phuc.

Prior to that, the couple had two children, a boy and a girl who are now 16 and 13 years old. Dong said he and his wife were very worried when they found out that Tinh was pregnant with quadruplets because they were very poor.

However, the local authorities and social organizationshave helped the couple raise the kids.

The wife, Ms. Tinh, stays home to take care of the children while Dong is willing to do everything to earn money. Dong does not have a stable job.
Caring of six children at the same time is not an easy task, Tinh said. She cannot do anything else excepttake care of the kids.

Dong said he had to work hard to support his big family but for himthe quadruplets were a gift from god.

The eldest daughter, 16, has to work to assist her family. The second boy is now an eighth grader.

The quadrupletsare going to school this September. The couple wishes to have assistance from society because their current income cannot pay for their schooling.

The quadruplets look similar.
They are always together, everywhere.

They are only four but they help their mother do simple housework.
|
|
The parents wanted to dress the kids the same way but they could not afford to buy clothes at the same time, so each kid wears different clothes and sandals.

The kids go to bed at 10pm.
|
|
In Vietnam, there have been two cases of quadruplets in recent decades, one in Hanoi and one in Hung Yen province.
