To protect the safety of the head of the United States, the White House brought to Vietnam a retinue of up to 800 people.

Vietnamese police officers are in charge of preventing people from approaching too close to the US President's entourage or the places where he visited.

Protection for the US President at close range is assumed by American agents. Many of them are equipped with bulletproof armor and guns. According to the Guard Command of Vietnam, the US registered to bring hundreds of guns into Vietnam.

Specially trained dogs were deployed at airports, hotels and all places where the US President visited to check every vehicle in and out. Most of them are German bergie dogs, which are trained to detect threats such as bombs, mines and others.
