Opening of the forum, Chairman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Nguyen Dinh Khang said that the forum is an opportunity for trade union members and workers nationwide to express their thoughts, aspirations, suggestions and recommendations to the National Assembly and National Assembly leaders on policies and laws related to workers and union activities.

Through the forum, ideas and solutions will be raised to promote socio-economic development, complete the targets and tasks for 2023 and the 2021-2026 term, contribute to improving people's lives and realizing people's aspirations, he said.

The forum is also an important information channel for the National Assembly and deputies to better perform their legislative and supreme supervision tasks and decide on important issues directly related to legitimate rights and interests. of workers, contributing to building a modern and strong Vietnamese working class.

Mr. Khang said that after 2 weeks of collecting opinions from union members and workers nationwide, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor recorded 1,589 recommendations from reports of 79/82 Provincial and City Labor Confederations. City, central sector trade union, affiliated corporation trade union; More than 3,000 comments from press agencies and social networking platforms of all levels of trade unions.

Opinions focused on socio-economic development issues, in which a number of housing issues for workers emerged; social insurance, health insurance, unemployment insurance, one-time insurance withdrawal, social insurance benefits, retirement age; solutions to ensure employment, increase income, increase minimum wage, salary for officials, civil servants, public employees, armed forces...

In particular, many comments reflect painful social problems of workers such as outstanding debt and evasion of social insurance payments; difficulties in medical examination and treatment; health care of workers; cultural and sports activities; the care and protection of children of workers; building prosperous, progressive, happy worker families...

In addition, there are also recommendations to amend laws directly related to workers and trade unions such as: Social Insurance Law, Housing Law, Land Law, Employment Law, Education Law. Vocational education, Law on occupational safety and hygiene, Law on Trade Unions...

The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor has compiled opinions into 45 major issues to send to the National Assembly, the Government and competent agencies.

This is also the first time that 500 union members and workers were present at Dien Hong Hall to voice the thoughts and aspirations of union members and workers nationwide.

National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue emphasized that this is a special forum when it was first organized under the initiative of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and held at Dien Hong Hall. , the National Assembly building, where National Assembly sessions take place.
