The Police Department in northern Cao Bằng Province made the announcement regarding the leak of the test, which has caused public concern over the past few days.

V.T.H, a candidate in Cao Bằng Province, brought a smartphone into the exam room to take photos of the exam questions and sent them to H.T.T.T., a university student, for assistance. Subsequently, T.'s boyfriend posted them on social media.

Immediately after seeing the leaked exam questions on social media around 8am on June 28, the provincial police coordinated with the Department of Education and Training and units of the Ministry of Public Security to conduct a thorough investigation.

By 1.30pm the same day, the police identified V.T.H as the person who took photos of the exam questions, residing in Hợp Giang Ward, Cao Bằng City.

H. admitted that on June 27, H contacted H.T.T.T., a student at a university majoring in Finance and residing in Tân Giang Ward in Cao Bằng City, through the Messenger app and asked for help with the Literature exam, which T. agreed to.

On the morning of June 28, H. brought a smartphone into exam room No. 0176 at the examination site in Cao Bằng City High School. After the exam paper was released, H. took a photo of the questions and sent it to T. at 7.45am.

However, due to strict invigilation during the exam, H. did not use the phone to look at the answers.

After receiving the exam paper from H. via Messenger, T. solved and sent answers for question 1, question 4 in the reading comprehension section, and question 1 in the essay section. Then, T. deleted the messages.

However, T.'s boyfriend, H.N.T., residing in Phú Thọ Town in Phú Thọ Province, read the exchanged messages between T. and H., and saved the images of the exam paper and posted them on his own Facebook account.

A few minutes later, T. deleted these images, but the exam paper had already spread online.

Preliminary findings indicated that the assistance of the university student T. to candidate H. was based on their acquaintance without any agreement on monetary payment.

When working with the police agency, T. admitted that she regularly contacted H. regarding exercise questions during the exam preparation.

The leak of the exam paper has been determined to involve only three individuals.

Candidate H. was suspended from the exam in accordance with examination rules.

The Ministry of Education and Training affirmed that the leaked information would not affect the overall examination process as it was likely limited to only a few candidates.

The authorities are currently investigating the case to clarify the details and handle it according to the provisions of the law. — VNS
