One person was killed and some others were injured when a passenger car collided with a four-seater vehicle at the foot of Bai Chay Bridge in Quang Ninh Province.

The horrifying crash occurred yesterday in the northern province at 9.30pm, when a passenger car, modified as a truck and travelling to Uong Bi City from Ha Long City, suddenly lost control, careered into the wrong lane, crashed into the four-seater and pushed it into a 45-seater bus.

The bus spun and blocked the road. The first car continued to drag the four-seater 20m more before it stopped.

The accident killed a passenger sitting on the rear seat of the passenger car instantly, while some others suffered minor injuries. Meanwhile, the four-seater vehicle's driver was seriously injured, and was trapped inside the vehicle. It took about 30 minutes to get him out of the car.

All the vehicles were badly damaged, with the four-seater being completely disfigured.

Meanwhile, another crash occurred on Phap Van-Cau Gie Highway at 8.30pm yesterday that left two persons dead and 17 injured.

A car, carrying people, was going from Ha Nội to Ha Tinh at a very high speed.

When it reached km201 + 600 on Phap Van - Cau Gie Highway, the driver suddenly lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the back of a truck.

The collision was so strong that both vehicles crashed through several metres of barriers and flipped across a field in To Hiệu Commune in Thuong Tin District.

The local people and relevant authorities promptly carried out emergency aid.

Dozens of ambulances and vehicles of security forces arrived at the scene of the accident to take the victims to Thuong Tin Hospital, Ha Noi, and to Ha Nam.
