Vietnam’s smartphone market is seeing a wave of phones with 10,000 mAh batteries, as manufacturers pair exceptional capacity with relatively slim designs.

New silicon-carbon and silicon-anode battery technology allows these phones to retain a sleek appearance while offering a range of premium features.

Here are three notable 10,000 mAh smartphones on sale in Vietnam, along with their strengths, drawbacks and prices.

realme P4 Power: A 10,001 mAh battery and 144Hz display

The realme P4 Power stands out in the large-battery segment with a 10,001 mAh battery, yet measures 9.08 mm thick and weighs 219 g.

It has a HyperGlow 4D Curve+ AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, a 4nm Dimensity 7400 Ultra processor, 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Its main camera uses a 50MP Sony sensor with optical image stabilization, and the phone includes the Next AI toolkit.

Battery life is a key strength: the phone offers up to 11.7 hours of continuous gaming or 32.5 hours of video playback. Its ultra power-saving mode allows 44 minutes of emergency calling even when the battery is at 1%.

The phone supports 80W VOOC charging, reaching 50% in 36 minutes, and 27W reverse charging for other devices. It also has a five-star TÜV Rheinland durability certification, IP69/IP68/IP66 water resistance and military-grade durability. Its battery is rated to retain more than 80% capacity after eight years.

At 219 g, however, it may feel heavy during extended use. The sole 12GB/256GB configuration also leaves buyers with little choice of memory and storage.

The realme P4 Power sells for VND 15.99 million ($616).

vivo V80 Lite 5G: A Guinness World Record battery 

The vivo V80 Lite 5G has drawn attention for its 10,000 mAh BlueVolt battery and a Guinness World Record for continuous on-screen battery life. It is aimed at people who travel frequently or work outdoors.

The phone features a 6.83-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of 2,000 nits. It has a 50MP Sony-sensor main camera and a 32MP selfie camera. A 3.8K vapor-chamber cooling system helps it run smoothly at temperatures of 45°C.

Its standout strength is battery endurance: it achieved 32 hours and 37 minutes of continuous on-screen video playback. An intelligent charging algorithm is designed to keep battery capacity above 80% after seven years.

The phone also meets military-grade durability standards, is rated to withstand a 3 m drop and carries IP68/IP69 water-resistance ratings. Its touchscreen works even with wet or greasy hands. AI features cover tasks from photo editing to recording and automatic transcription.

Its drawbacks include just 6GB of physical RAM, although virtual RAM is supported. Despite its compact appearance, it weighs 224 g, while fast charging is limited to 44W.

The vivo V80 Lite 5G costs VND 12.99 million ($500) for the 6GB/128GB version and VND 14.99 million ($577) for the 6GB/256GB version.

Redmi Note 17 Pro Max 5G: A 10,000 mAh battery with 100W charging

Part of the Redmi Note 17 series, the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max 5G reflects the line’s “Built for Years” approach by combining a large battery with very fast charging.

It has a 6.83-inch CrystalRes AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of 3,500 nits. The phone runs on a 4nm Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 processor and HyperOS 3 with Xiaomi HyperAI, and uses Gorilla Glass Victus 2.

Its main advantages are battery capacity and charging speed. The 10,000 mAh battery supports 100W HyperCharge and 27W reverse charging, and is rated for 1,600 charge cycles.

Durability features include IP66/IP68/IP69/IP69K ratings, protection against immersion in water at a depth of 2 m for 72 hours, and the ability to withstand a 3 m drop onto granite.

The phone also comes with a five-year Titan warranty that includes one free battery replacement, alongside three years of screen coverage, two years of coverage for liquid damage and six years of security updates.

Its list price is relatively high compared with earlier Redmi Note generations. The design is also somewhat bulky, and the phone weighs 229 g.

The Redmi Note 17 Pro Max 5G sells for VND 15.99 million ($616) in the 8GB/256GB configuration, VND 16.99 million ($654) in the 12GB/256GB configuration and VND 17.99 million ($693) in the 8GB/512GB configuration.
