The three top graduates earning perfect 4.0 out of 4.0 cumulative GPAs at Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST) in 2026 are Le Nguyen Ngoc Vu, who studied Mechatronics Engineering; Truong Ngoc Hai, Computer Engineering; and Luu Cong Toan, Control Engineering and Automation.
It is the largest number of students to graduate with perfect cumulative GPAs in the same cohort in nearly 20 years, since the university adopted a credit-based system and the four-point grading scale.
Three other HUST students had previously graduated with perfect scores.
Tran Trung Hieu, who studied Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering, and Nguyen The An, a Data Science and Artificial Intelligence student, both graduated in 2024. Tran Thanh Nam, who studied in the university’s French-Vietnamese Information Technology program, graduated in 2025.
According to HUST, another five students are graduating at the top of their respective programs: Nguyen Thu Giang in English for Science, Engineering and Technology; Le Canh Hai in Mathematics and Informatics; Do Ngoc Anh in the Advanced Food Technology Program; Le Thi Hai Yen in the Advanced Logistics Program; and Ngo Thanh Tu in Materials.
Their cumulative GPAs range from 3.77 to 3.95.
Around 3,500 new graduates in bachelor’s and engineering programs will complete their studies at Hanoi University of Science and Technology in this graduation round.
The university’s graduation ceremonies are scheduled for Sept. 26-27.
