Vietnamese representative Thuy Dung has officially unveiled the evening gown she will model on the catwalk for the final round of the Miss International 2017 scheduled for November 14 in Tokyo, Japan.

    With 1423 points, Thuy Dung ranks third in her group, trailed by candidates from Myanmar, and Nepal.

Earlier, Missosology chose Thuy Dung among the top 15 Miss International 2017 contestants, thanks to her friendliness and brilliant smile.

 The final round of Miss International 2017 will take place at 1pm on November 14 (Vietnamese time). Last year, Ms Kylie Verzosa from the Philippines was crowned Miss International 2016.

The national costume draws inspiration from Ao Dai (Vietnam’s traditional long dress), styled on the form of an egret, a familiar image to Vietnamese people.

     Local designer Tin Thai says the image of an egret symbolizes rural life and Vietnamese people in the countryside.

    The costume is made of silken material from the northern region.

    The imagery of bamboo leaves and egrets have been embroidered manually with crystal and glass beads.

     The hat takes the form of an egret hatching eggs in bamboo bushes.

    Accessories are made of metal. Each detail is hand engraved with the familiar image of Vietnamese bamboo trees.

    After one year of thorough preparation, Thuy Dung arrived in Japan on October 24 to participate in the Miss International 2017 beauty pageant.
