The final Vietnam squad for the upcoming AFC U23 Championship 2020 qualifiers has been announced by the official website of the Asian Federation Confederation. In total six players have been dropped from the squad, including V-League 2018 top scorer Tien Linh.
Last year’s Nuti Cafe V-League 1 saw striker Nguyen Tien Linh lead the list of top scorers with 15 goals. The 22-year-old footballer has both good physical attributes and technical skills.
However, due to injuries he could not be named in the final squad for Vietnam’s U23 team.
In addition to Tien Linh, five other footballers have been cut from the squad including defender Truong Tien Anh of Viettel FC, Ngo Tung Quoc of HCM City FC, Phan Thanh Hau of HAGL FC, Luong Hoang Nam of Haiphong FC, and goalkeeper Y Eli Nie of Dak Lak FC.
Head coach Park Hang Seo has made the decision to leave them out of the squad for the upcoming tournament.
