On the afternoon of September 15, Dr. Phan Thanh Hai, Director of the Hue City Department of Culture and Sports, confirmed that his office had sent an official letter to their counterparts in Ho Chi Minh City requesting joint action regarding a TikToker residing in the southern metropolis.

The controversial video was posted on the TikTok channel T.T.D., which has more than 80,000 followers and over 1.2 million views. It showed the male TikToker walking on Truong Tien Bridge in Hue while telling viewers not to marry women from Hue or Quang Tri, describing them as "aggressive" and "not gentle."

The clip also contained several offensive remarks and regionally discriminatory language.

After being posted, the video quickly went viral, drawing widespread criticism and shares. Many viewers condemned the TikToker for promoting regional prejudice and insulting women, accusing him of creating controversial content to boost views and likes.

Following strong backlash from the public, the TikToker removed the video and uploaded a new clip in which he apologized.
