Minh Hương 58 tourist ship was suspended for not refunding the customers’ money following an incorrect calculation on their bill.

A group of six people on Sunday had been made to pay nearly VND10 million (US$440) for their meal on the ship.

Upon checking the bill, they discovered that part of it had been tallied incorrectly, adding an extra VND1 million ($44) to the total.

The group asked the ship’s owner to refund the disputed amount, but she refused.

The authorities yesterday investigated the case and fined the ship’s owner VND1 million ($44) for not refunding the customers’ money and VND500,000 ($22) for not posting the price of the food on the menu.

The owner was also asked to refund the customers.

The authorities suspended the ship pending further examination of its other business activities.

They promised that all violators of the law would be strictly punished to enhance tourist experience of Ha Long.
