The festival took place at Cua Dai Beach, recognized as one of the 25 most beautiful beaches in Asia by TripAdvisor. This year’s Hoi An Sea Festival stands out for its blend of island culture and traditional cultural heritage.
The festival promises to energize the summer in Hoi An with a variety of activities such as dance performances, folk dances, music, cuisine, kite flying, and beach sports.
“This event connects tourists with local people, fostering a love for the homeland's sea and islands and enhancing understanding of local history and culture,” said Mr. Nguyen Van Lanh, Vice Chairman of the Hoi An City People's Committee.
Events like the "Sea and Island Week" with the theme "Ocean Cleaning Campaign," "Music, Cuisine and Sports Space," kite flying festival, children's summer camp, women's mini soccer tournament, fishing village tug of war, and yoga exchanges on the beach are expected to draw large crowds of locals and tourists alike.
The highlight of this year's Sea Festival is the "Endless Summer" program at An Bang Beach. The beach is transformed into a “creative space with the breath of the sea,” featuring decorative products made from lanterns, recycled wood, and stories promoting environmental protection and honoring local traditional crafts.
An Bang Beach also offers a lively culinary, music, and sports space for sea lovers.
Through this festival, Hoi An aims to create a unique impression of sea tourism while promoting green tourism and eco-tourism that is close to nature. The festival is part of a broader effort to showcase the richness and diversity of Hoi An's tourism resources, attracting tourists to explore and relax in this historic city.
