Like an “underground spring” flowing silently in the hustle of modern life, the traditional arts have been being preserved and passed down from generation to generation by young people who love the cultural values of their forefathers.

A long-term project on protecting and promoting the values of ethnic literature and arts in Vietnam has been launched by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.   

Every Lunar New year, a man impersonates a traditionally dressed woman and immerses himself in a ritual dance to pray for blessings for everyone.

The ministry of culture is planning for an online theatre project to entertain audience, who cannot go to theatre during Covid-19 pandemic and also a way to rescue art troupes from being in debt without income from selling tickets.

Many young Vietnamese are working hard to preserve Vietnam’s traditional arts with a hope of promoting the unique values of Vietnam to a wider public, both at home and abroad.

Vietnamese culture and traditional arts were on display at a festival in Italy’s Tuscany region from November 1 to 10.

Director Le Nguyen Dat, head of HCM City College of Theatre and Cinema's Traditional Art, is one of the many role models from across the country studying and following the ideology, morality and lifestyle of President Ho Chi Minh.
