The 2nd Kon Tum Brocade Color Festival was among events to celebrate the 110th anniversary of the founding of Kon Tum province (February 9, 1913 - February 9, 2023).
The event just took place at Kon Jo Dri Community Tourism Village, Dak Ro Wa commune.
At the festival, artisans exchanged experiences and contributed opinions on building a unique community tourism environment, imbued with the traditional cultural identity of ethnic minority communities in Kon Tum city in particular and Kon Tum province in general.
According to Vice Chairman of Kon Tum City People's Committee Phan Ngoc Dinh, for many generations, brocade weaving is a traditional, indispensable craft in daily life and has become the cultural identity of ethnic minorities, including people from villages in Kon Tum city.
To develop community tourism, maintaining the traditional crafts of ethnic minorities, including brocade weaving, plays a very important role.
Each product made from brocade contains unique stories about history, cultural identity, beliefs and aesthetic values that always attract a lot of attention from domestic and foreign tourists. Therefore, preserving and developing brocade weaving not only contributes to preserving and promoting culture, but also helps create more jobs, improve people's lives, and promote socio-economic development in ethnic minority areas.
besides the Brocade Color Festival, the People's Committee of Kon Tum City also officially introduced the Kon Jo Dri Community Tourism Village.
