Due to the impact of Typhoon No. 5 (Kajiki), the Railway Transport Joint Stock Company has announced that it will suspend two passenger trains, NA1 and NA2, on the Hanoi - Vinh route, as well as train SE9 on the Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City route this evening (August 25).
According to the company, train NA1, scheduled to depart Hanoi Station at 9:50 PM, and train NA2, departing from Vinh Station at 9:30 PM, will be suspended.
Similarly, train SE9, scheduled to depart Hanoi for Ho Chi Minh City at 12:50 PM, will also be canceled to ensure passenger safety amid storm conditions.
Passengers holding tickets for the suspended trains can receive full refunds at railway ticket offices without any service charges. The refund period will last no longer than 30 days from August 25.
Currently, several trains are still running along the North-South route, including those passing through provinces most affected by Typhoon No. 5. These include the SE1/SE2, SE3/SE4, SE5/SE6, SE10, SE11/SE12, and the Hanoi - Da Nang SE19/SE20.
In response to the storm, the State Authority for Construction Quality Inspection under the Ministry of Construction has instructed units organizing the Economic and Social Achievement Exhibition at the National Exhibition Center (Co Loa, Hanoi) to inspect, reinforce, and secure all temporary structures, including frameworks, roofs, billboards, signage, lighting systems, water and electrical systems, and hanging equipment.
Organizers are required to dismantle immediately any structures deemed potentially unsafe under abnormal weather conditions. They must also prepare comprehensive disaster prevention plans, arrange for standby personnel and equipment, and maintain close coordination with local authorities and the exhibition’s organizing committee.
“During the storm, all construction, assembly, and on-site activities must be suspended. It is strictly forbidden for workers, technical staff, or related personnel to remain in areas deemed dangerous. Security teams must be mobilized to manage and cooperate with local forces in the response efforts,” the State Authority for Construction Quality Inspection stated in its official dispatch.
