A collision between a cargo train and a truck occurred on Thursday afternoon at a railway crossing in Canh Thuan Commune, Van Canh District, Binh Dinh Province, blocking traffic for hours.

Other trains on the route were delayed for almost four hours until the truck was moved from the track and the train involved in the collision was towed to nearby Canh Vinh Station, Colonel Tran Thai Hoc, head of Van Canh District Police, said.

Earlier, on Tuesday, at the same site, another train collided with a truck, causing serious injury to the truck driver.

Local officials said there was a warning sign at the railway crossing. The local authority and the residents had asked for a barrier and an automatic warning system several times but had not received a response from relevant agencies.
