At the event, General Secretary To Lam handed over Decision No. 1616-QDNS/TW, dated October 25, 2024, from the Politburo, assigning Tran Cam Tu, Politburo Member, Party Central Committee Secretary, and Chairman of the Central Inspection Committee, to the position of Standing Member of the 13th Party Secretariat and Chairman of the Central Inspection Committee. He also presented flowers to congratulate Tran Cam Tu on his new role.

In his address, General Secretary To Lam emphasized that the Politburo had reached a unanimous decision to assign Tran Cam Tu as the Standing Member of the Party Secretariat.

"This is a crucial role as the Party is actively preparing for the upcoming Party congresses at all levels, leading up to the 14th National Congress," he said.

The Politburo has complete confidence in Mr. Tu, a senior leader with a solid educational background, extensive field experience, and in-depth expertise. He has held several important leadership positions within the Party at both the central and local levels. Notably, as Chairman of the Central Inspection Committee, he led the committee to successfully carry out inspection and supervision tasks, advising the Politburo and the Secretariat on the resolution of new, complex, and serious cases. This contributed significantly to the Party’s efforts in strengthening discipline, building the political system, and combating corruption and negative phenomena.

General Secretary To Lam urged Mr. Tu to swiftly adapt to his responsibilities as Standing Member, as outlined in the working regulations of the Party Central Committee, the Politburo, and the Secretariat of the 13th tenure. He is expected to lead and guide the daily operations of the Party, manage the Party Central Office, and coordinate activities to ensure smooth, unified, and synchronized functioning of the political system.

For now, Mr. Tu will focus on directing the Central Office and relevant agencies to complete preparations for the upcoming Party congresses, paving the way for the 14th National Congress. Leaders of the Central Office and related entities are encouraged to continue supporting Mr. Tu in fulfilling his new duties.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Tu expressed his sincere gratitude to General Secretary To Lam, the Politburo, and the Secretariat for entrusting him with this vital Party role. He acknowledged this appointment as both a recognition and a challenge, motivating him to continue striving, training, and making efforts to excel in his duties.

"This is an immense honor but also a heavy responsibility at a time when the country is focusing on the successful implementation of the 13th National Congress Resolution and the preparations for the Party congresses leading up to the 14th National Congress," Tran Cam Tu stated, highlighting the upcoming congress as a milestone marking a new phase of national development.

Aware of the honor and responsibility bestowed upon him, Mr. Tu committed to upholding a high sense of duty, maintaining political integrity, and building on the experience of his predecessors to meet the increasing expectations of the Party and the people. Given the extensive workload, he expressed his hope for continued cooperation, support, and assistance from all agencies and units to successfully carry out his tasks.
