Top Vietnamese female badminton player Vu Thi Trang won two titles at the Yonex Sunrise Bangladesh International Challenge on Saturday.

Trang, world No 46 and No 1 seed, defeated her teammate Nguyen Thuy Linh, world No 104, 21-18, 21-13 after 40 minutes to win her first title in the women’s singles final.

After one hour of rest, Trang paired with her fellow country woman Nguyen Thi Sen to crush Jakkampudi Meghana and Ram Poorvisha of India 21-6, 20-22 and 21-11 and take her second title in the women’s doubles.

It is the first time Trang has earned titles in both the singles and doubles category in a tournament which belongs to the Challenge system of the Badminton World Federation.

With these results, Trang is expected to improve her world rankings to be announced this week.
