The award was presented during the 7th International Forum on Chinese Literary Translation for Sinologists, held from July 20 to 24 in Nanjing, China. The biennial forum, organized by the Chinese Writers Association since 2010, brings together prominent literary translators and authors from across the globe.

This year’s theme, “Translation for the Future,” featured the participation of 39 leading Chinese authors, including Liu Zhenyun, Dong Xi, and Bi Feiyu, alongside 39 distinguished translators from countries such as Vietnam, Thailand, Myanmar, Nepal, South Korea, Japan, Mexico, the UK, Turkey, Spain, the Netherlands, Poland, Italy, and Iran.

At the award ceremony, Nguyen Le Chi shared: “Reading and translating compelling stories has been a lifelong passion of mine. Having the opportunity to translate outstanding works of literature, especially Chinese literature, has been a true privilege. I thank the Chinese authors whose wonderful stories I’ve had the honor to share with Vietnamese readers over the past 25 years. I hope to continue discovering and sharing these literary gems, acting as a bridge between the readers of both China and Vietnam. It is also my deep aspiration to bring Vietnamese literature to readers in China and around the world.”

Previously, Nguyen Le Chi was also recognized with a commendation from the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City. She was named among 177 individuals who have made significant contributions to the development of the city's literature and arts since the reunification of the country on April 30, 1975.
