The Ministry said that overloaded re-occurred in many localities causing traffic security disorder and destroy roads.

Accordingly, local administrations encouraged enterprises in the fields of mining and minerals, ports to install scale and surveillance camera for checking the weigh and loading to transmit the data to competent agencies.

The Ministry also requested the Vietnam Directorate of Road to enhance vehicles’ loading capacity especially in localities with complicated development of overloaded vehicles.

The Vietnam Register will liaise with traffic inspectors and traffic wardens to pay unscheduled visits to enterprises and issue harsh penalties on those who intentionally change their vehicle design and size to carry more.

Additionally, relevant agencies will fine those who have not had their vehicles checked periodically as per the regulations.
