Some flights finalized technical safety procedures on the first day.

“Basically, everything is okay,” Mr. Hong said. “Direct international flights to Da Nang from Japan and South Korea were catered to. Passengers are quite satisfied with the new terminal. After a ten-day trial, it will be officially opened on May 19.”

Vietnam Airlines announced that all of its international flights were transferred from Terminal 1 to Terminal 2 from May 9.

The national flag carrier will have 22 check-in counters on the second floor, with three business class counters.

On the third floor is an 860 sq m business lounge with 180 seats serving regular customers and business travelers of Vietnam Airlines and other international airlines operating into and out of Da Nang.

According to Vietnam Airlines, the new international terminal will contribute to improving the quality of services to four-star standard, providing a better experience for passengers.

International flights of Jetstar Pacific will move to the T2 terminal on May 11 and it will also provide guidance and passenger assistance. Its domestic flights will continue to use the T1 terminal.

The new terminal is designed and equipped with modern facilities, featuring 40 ticket counters and ten gates. Its capacity is 6 million passengers a year.

It is a key piece of infrastructure for the APEC 2017 meetings in the city in November.
