Appearing yesterday in eastern Luzon Island, the tropical depression quickly strengthened into a storm, with the international name of Cimaron.

With the winds of level 8, the storm swept through northeastern Luzon Island at noon on July 17 and headed toward the sea between this island and Taiwan.

In the evening and the night of July 17, the storms moved northwest at a speed of 15-20 km per hour. This noon, July 18, the storm is forecasted to be in the northeast of the East Sea, about 120 km off the coast of Guangdong Province (China) with constant winds.

According to meteorological agencies, the storm will keep moving towards the mainland of southeast Guangdong Province (China).

Because of the storm, northeastern East Sea will have winds up to level 8. Also due to the influence of the southwest monsoon, the waters from Binh Thuan to Ca Mau and the southern East Sea (including the Truong Sa Archipelago) will have strong southwest wind of level six.

Cimaron is more likely to become the fourth storm in the East Sea but it will not affect Vietnam. Meteorological agencies said that this year Vietnam will be affected by 5-6 storms.
