According to the National Hydrology Meteorology Forecast Center, tropical low pressure on the East Sea was weakened into tropical depression zone in this early morning.

At 4 am yesterday, the depression zone was located at 18, 5- 19, 5 degrees north latitude and 112, 5- 113, 5 degrees east longitude of the eastward of Hainan Island (China) with powerful wind of level 5- 8.

In past 24 hours, it moved slowly northwestward. A cold air occurred in the northern region of Vietnam.

Because of impact of the depression circulation, medium- heavy rains and thunderstorms will hit the northern provinces on the large scale by tonight.

By August 27, downpour rains, thunderstorms and powerful wind will expand into the northern central region.

The highest rainfall is going to be measured at 50- 100 mm on August 26- 29, up to over 100 mm, causing cyclone, hail, landslide and flash flood in the northern mountain provinces from Lai Chau, Son La, Ha Giang, Bac Kan, Cao Bang and Quang Ninh.

Due to the influence of the southwest monsoon, deep cloud, heavy rain and thunderstorm will also shoulder over the southern region
