The BMW, which reportedly had a damaged battery and could not be moved, carried a starting price of VND966.6 million ($37,000). Meanwhile, the Lexus was listed with a starting price of more than VND767.8 million ($29,500).

However, neither vehicle received any bids.

Under rulings issued by the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Court and the High People’s Court in Ho Chi Minh City, Truong My Lan was sentenced to death and ordered to repay more than VND30 trillion ($1.15 billion) to victims and related parties in the illegal bond issuance case tied to the Van Thinh Phat scandal.
