Recognising the higher reward from growing the space saving bonsai kumquat rather than the traditional kumquat tree, Tu Lien villagers quickly increased the area of land and the number of bonsai kumquat trees, which have tripled compared to traditional kumquat.

According to Tu Lien people, kumquats this year are more beautiful than last year because of the favourable weather.
