Two people have been killed following a rockfall event which occurred in the northern mountainous province of Cao Bang on March 10.

According to initial reports, several large boulders fell on three workers who were working at Truong An Cooperative in Dan Chu commune, Hoa An district.

Following the collapse of rock the two victims were buried along with two excavators.

The deceased workers were later identified as Nong Van Ba, 38, and Thanh Bang, 37.

A rescue force was immediately mobilised at the scene to recover the bodies from the site.

A further investigation is underway.
