A landslide occurred on Hoang Hoa Tham Street in Dalat City on June 29.

According to a report from local authorities, the landslide which was triggered by three hours of heavy rain, occurred at 3 am on Hoang Hoa Tham Street. A 50-metre-long street broke off and crashed onto some roadside houses. A two-story house collapsed. Luckily no one was inside at that time. The landslide also damaged three other houses nearby, injuring five people.



Meanwhile, two other people who were construction workers living in temporary tents put up next to the street went missing after the landslide buried their tents. After hours of searching, rescue teams found their bodies at 12.40pm. The two victims were identified as Nguyen Thi Hong, 45, and her husband aged 47 years old.

Several landslides were also reported in Ward 3 and Ward 11 on Thursday morning, damaging some local houses.


Dalat authorities are planning to evacuate people living in prone areas.

Dalat City has been seeing heavy rains over the past few days with rainfall reaching 60 mm per hour, triggering landslides in sloped areas.
