Police have detained two people following the deaths of seven people at a recent music show in Hanoi.

On September 22, police arrested Le Thai Son, 26, director of the event organiser A Chau Connected Agency who was accused of safety violations at a mass gathering. Son would be held responsible for the deaths of seven people. 

The police examined Son’s home the same day.

Another man Bui Manh Duy, 19, has been also detained for encouraging others to use drugs at the festival.

The Trip to the Moon event was held at Tay Ho District’s water park area, attracting a crowd of around 5,000. Seven people who died were tested positive for as yet unnamed drugs.

The investigation into the incident is being continued.
