Two young men have drowned and one other gone missing while bathing in Quy Nhon beach in Binh Dinh Province.

Rescue teams search for the missing man at Quy Nhon beach on July 18

Local authorities said at 7.30 am on Thursday that rescue forces are still searching for the man who went missing on Wednesday afternoon.

According to a report from local police, a group of five young men went to Quy Hoa Beach at 2pm on July 18. At 5pm, two of them, Nguyen Nam Nhu Nhat, 18, and Nguyen Ngoc Tu, 21, went to bath here and were swept away by strong waves.

Hearing calls for help from the two friends, Pham Quoc Toan, 18, rushed into the water to rescue them but then he was also swept away.

Rescue forces were soon called to search for the men and found two bodies of Nguyen Nam Nhu Nhat and Pham Quoc Toan at 9.30pm.

Local authorities said that the rescue work was carried out through out the night but faced challenges from unfavourable weather in the area with heavy rains and strong winds.
