The Viet Nam Football Federation (VFF) banned Tu, coach of Khanh Hoa beach football club, for two years and fined him VND6 million (US$270) for attempting to tempt coach Duc of Da Nang to fix a match during the National Beach Football Championship on July 17-23 in Nha Trang City.

Duc was banned 18 months and fined VND4 million ($180) as he did not report the incident to the VFF and for the disrespect he showed referees in the event's final.

During the group stage, Tu called Duc and asked him to let Khanh Hoa win so both teams could advance to the final, where Da Nang would be allowed to win. Duc refused the offer.

Khanh Hoa beat Da Nang 1-0 in the group stage and 3-2 after penalties in the final and defended their title.

After the final, Duc told his players to refuse their silver medals as well as their awards for top scorer and most valuable player, after having argued with the referees during the match.

A day after the final, a record of the conversation between two coaches was revealed.
