Ngo Nhi, born in 1994, from Binh Dinh, and Huynh Ngoc Tu, born 1994, from Dong Nai have been together for two years. Their love story is well known among netizens thanks to videos on TikTok showing sweet moments of the couple.

Nhi and Tu realized their true gender identity very early. They bravely came out and fortunately got acceptance and good wishes from their families.

Before meeting in October 2022, both Nhi and Tu had been in many relationships, but they could not find partners who they could stay together for a lifetime.

They met on a social network, after Nhi had finished a relationship which lasted three years. She admitted that she was in a difficult time as she lost confidence in love. At that time, Tu sent a message to Nhi and said she wanted to make acquaintance with Nhi. But Nhi just agreed for fun.

Nhi is very beautiful, but she said she was fat and ugly. She showed a photo of a girl on Facebook, but the photo was not hers, just a photo downloaded from the internet. However, despite the description about an ugly girl, Tu still said she wanted to meet Nhi in real life.

“Throughout that evening, Tu did not take her eyes off me. I knew that her heart was stirred. I myself was also attracted by Tu's elegance and gentleness. We officially became lovers right after the first meeting,” Nhi said.

After a short time of befriending, the couple decided to move in together. They gave up jobs in Dong Nai and HCM City and moved to Binh Duong where they built a home.

Before going together, Nhi and Tu had to experience a long time of fighting, and overcoming social prejudice to be truly themselves. They met when they became adults, and were financially and emotionally independent, so they were free to choose partners for themselves.

However, the couple was still anxious about their parents’ feelings as they did not know if the parents supported their love. When they became sure that they wanted to live together, they decided to present themselves before the two families.

“Tu and I appeared at the wedding ceremony of my biological younger sister to come out,” Nhi recalled.

The wedding was a rendezvous of relatives, friends and neighbors. Nhi could not imagine that their love would be supported by all friends and relatives.

“Everyone said congratulations to me and said they wished they would have the opportunities to attend our wedding ceremony,” Nhi said.

“My parents love Tu, especially my father. When we met for the first time, my father introduced Tu to neighbors, ‘He is my eldest son in law’,” she recalled.

Nhi felt a little bit anxious before she appeared before Tu’s family. However, luckily, the future mother in law liked her very much and felt satisfied about the good daughter in law. Nhi was treated with delicious specialties and good wishes from the mother.

“My mother in law gave a very moving saying: if the two of you love each other, you need to make an effort to become happy.” Nhi said.

Beautiful love makes life better

Like other couples, Nhi and Tu take care of each other. Since the day they began living together, Nhi’s life has changed a lot.

Nhi once felt so anxious and stressful about her job that she could not sleep at night. However, with Tu's care and encouragement, she goes swimming and has gym sessions, which has improved her health.

In Nhi’s eyes, Tu is a perfect partner. She has a masculine appearance, but she is gentle. She is good at taking care of other people. She loves pets, likes raising fish, grows ornamental plants, cooks and is good at housework.

“With Tu, my life has become well organized and more stable,” Nhi said.

However, a problem still exists, which is organizing a wedding. Nhi hopes that same-sex marriage will be allowed by law one day. If so, their happiness will be confirmed with a marriage registration certificate.

Meanwhile, it doesn’t matter for Tu, who just wants to organize a wedding ceremony as soon as possible.
