Two people have been killed and four others seriously injured in a fire which burnt down a house in Ho Chi Minh City's District 9 early Tuesday morning.

According to a police report, the fire broke out at the house of Pham Thi Mui in Lane 82, Street 138 in Tan Phu Ward at 1am when her family were sleeping.
Neighbours managed to break the locked door to save people inside and call firefighters but then found Mui, 63, and her three-year-old granddaughter dead in their room.
Mui's three children and a grandson were rushed to hospital with serious burns.
Local people said that the house was previously a row of several attached rooms which Mui built for rent and her family recently moved in to live while their house is being upgraded.
The cause of the fire is being investigated.
