Two individuals were quickly apprehended following a robbery at a Family Mart store, as police discovered their intentions to carry out further attacks on convenience stores across Ho Chi Minh City.

The Criminal Investigation Division of the HCMC Police, in coordination with officers from Vuon Lai Ward, arrested two dangerous suspects: Tran Quoc Anh (born in 2004) and Le Hoang Nam (born in 2006).

At around 3:30 AM on November 22, the suspects carried out a bold robbery at a Family Mart store on Vinh Vien Street, Vuon Lai Ward. They threatened the staff and made off with approximately 3.5 million VND (about 144 USD).

After receiving the report, police swiftly launched an investigation. Within two days, investigators tracked down and arrested the suspects while they were hiding in a rented room on Quang Trung Street, An Hoi Tay Ward, HCMC.

Upon inspecting the suspects’ phones, police found messages detailing a plan to commit another robbery, this time targeting a GS25 store on Dong Nai Street, Hoa Hung Ward.

Both suspects confessed to their crimes.
