Striker Le Cong Vinh and midfielder Luong Xuan Truong have taken a lead for best player of the ASEAN Football Federation Suzuki Cup in polls taken by goal.com.

Vinh is the second-best scorer in the AFF Cup history, with 15 goals, behind Noh Alam Shah of Singapore with 17.

With goal No. 15, Vinh also surpassed veteran Le Huynh Duc, who scored 14, to become the best scorer in Vietnam football history at the regional level.

The talented striker has also been cited among the top 10 active goal-scorers at the international level, according to football stats site Squawka.

Meanwhile, midfielder Luong Xuan Truong has also impressed Asian media with his accurate long passes.  

Other candidates for the title include Therasin Dangda and Kawin Thamsatchanan from Thailand, Stefano Lilipaly and Boaz Salossa from Indonesia, Rizal Ghazali from Malaysia, Stephan Schrock from the Philippines, Chan Vathanaka from Cambodia, and Hassan Sunny from Singapre.

In addition, Goal.com also lists Vietnamese defender Vu Van Thanh, Rizal Ghazali (Malaysia), Chan Vanthanaka and Chreng Polroth (Cambodia) for best young player of the 2016 AFF Suzuki Cup.
