The tourist area of Bai Chay in Ha Long City, Quang Ninh, has experienced severe damage due to Typhoon Yagi. Although the storm had not yet made landfall by noon on September 7, heavy rain and high winds caused numerous large trees to fall and uproot in the area.

In the Old Quarter of Bai Chay Ward, many large trees were felled by strong winds, blocking roads and damaging traffic signs and directions. Several vehicles were immobilized due to fallen debris, requiring drivers to turn back.
