The tournament takes place from April 11 to April 23 in Indonesia. Vietnam have been drawn in Group A alongside the hosts, Malaysia and Timor Leste. According to the Brazilian coach, the group bears similarities to previous qualifiers, featuring opponents with strong technical quality.

“We understand this is a very challenging group with strong teams. However, U17 Vietnam will approach the tournament in our own way - focusing on each match and giving our absolute best,” he said.

He added that despite the difficulty of the group, the entire squad is determined to compete with maximum effort. Each match, he noted, will serve as an opportunity for the players to grow and improve.

The current generation, including many players born in 2010, has been developed from an early stage and is steadily maturing. Notably, several players born in 2008 have already gained experience in the V-League and even found the net, highlighting promising development potential.

Roland also emphasized the importance of mental strength, stressing that the coaching staff consistently instills confidence while demanding high levels of focus and self-belief from the players. Setting clear, immediate goals - starting with the opening match - is seen as key to ensuring the best possible preparation.
