The young players were visibly delighted by the large crowd of supporters who came to welcome them, sharing in the joy of a hard-earned triumph.With this latest success, U17 Vietnam have become the most successful team in the history of the U17 Southeast Asian Championship, lifting the trophy for the fourth time.The journey of the “Golden Star Warriors” this year left a strong impression.In the group stage, Nguyen Luc and his teammates secured emphatic victories, beating Malaysia 4-0 and Timor Leste 10-0. In the semi-finals, the Vietnamese youngsters staged a dramatic comeback to defeat defending champions U17 Australia 2-1.In the final, U17 Vietnam once again dominated Malaysia, sealing a convincing 3-0 win to claim the title.This squad is widely regarded as one of the most promising generations in recent years.Under coach Cristiano Roland, U17 Vietnam have gone unbeaten in 16 official matches, recording 10 wins and six draws, scoring 55 goals while conceding just five.Such a record is unprecedented for a Vietnamese youth team, highlighting the effectiveness of investments made by the Vietnam Football Federation as well as domestic clubs.Following the Southeast Asian tournament, U17 Vietnam now turn their focus to the AFC U17 finals in May, aiming to reach the quarter-finals and secure a place at the 2026 World Cup.
