The national U19 women’s football team have gathered in Hanoi in preparation for the 2017 AFC U19 Women’s Championship’s qualifying round to be held in Hanoi from October 29 to November 6.

Coach Mai Duc Chung called 24 players for this focus session. Most of them come from Vietnam Coal and Mineral, Hanoi and Ha Nam teams.

As planned, the team will have around five friendly matches with the U15 teams, Hanoi and Ha Nam.

The tournament has attracted the participation of 18 teams, divided into four groups. Vietnam are in Group D along with Iran, India and the Philippines.

The winner from each group will qualify to compete in the finals, alongside the top four teams of the 2015 AFC U-19 Women’s Championship, who directly qualified for the finals: Japan, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), the Republic of Korea (RoK) and China.
