The U20 squad suffered a narrow 0-1 loss on April 19 to U23 Borussia Moenchengladbach in the first friendly match during their training camp in Germany as their opponents are seen as strong and formidable.
Coach Hoang Anh Tuan’s players showed their strength and counterattack skills in the first minutes, however, U23 Borussia Moenchengladbach strengthened pressure on Vietnamese team.
Their efforts paid off in the 29th minute as defender Sezer Bilal hit goalie Nguyen Manh’s net, opening the score for the opponent’s side.
In the second half, Vietnam continued to face difficulties against their aggressive playing from their rivals, thus forcing Anh Tuan to bring substitutions with the hope of creating scoring chances.
But U20 Vietnam missed dozens of score equalization opportunities during the remaining time.
