The game began with U23 Vietnam showing confidence despite the pressure from a large home crowd. Early chances came from Van Thuan and Long Vu, but their efforts failed to trouble the scoreboard.

U23 China gradually took control of possession but struggled to penetrate Vietnam’s organised defence. The breakthrough came in the 39th minute when Du Yuezheng unleashed an audacious volley from nearly 30 metres, sending the ball over goalkeeper Cao Van Binh to give the hosts the lead.

After the break, U23 Vietnam pushed forward in search of an equaliser. The team raised their tempo and created several promising chances.

Van Thuan came close with a low strike that skimmed past the post, while Quoc Anh forced a strong save from goalkeeper Liu Qiwei with a powerful right-footed effort.

Substitute Dang Duong also made an immediate impact with a pacey run behind the defence, though his final shot failed to hit the target.

Despite sustained pressure in the closing stages, U23 Vietnam were unable to break through a compact and disciplined Chinese defence.

The hosts slowed the tempo effectively in the final minutes, preserving their advantage until the final whistle.

The match ended 1-0 in favour of U23 China, bringing U23 Vietnam’s campaign at the CFA Team China 2026 tournament to a close.
