Before leaving, the squad was trimmed with five players cut from the list, including Antonio Moric, Nguyen Le Phat, Truong Nhac Minh, Nguyen Trong Tuan and Le Nguyen Van Tho.

Among them, Le Phat had already been ruled out due to injury and did not join the team from the outset. Meanwhile, Moric, an overseas Vietnamese player, has been sent back to the U19 Vietnam squad to continue his development.

Several players including Nguyen Cong Phuong, Le Van Thuan, Tran Thanh Trung and Thai Ba Dat joined the team later after completing their commitments in the quarter-finals of the 2025/26 National Cup.

CFA Team China 2026 features four teams: hosts U23 China, U23 Vietnam, U23 Thailand and U23 DPR Korea. The competition will be played in a single round-robin format to determine the final standings.

According to the schedule, U23 Vietnam will face U23 DPR Korea on March 25, take on U23 Thailand on March 28, and meet hosts U23 China in their final match on March 31.
