Foreign Ministry spokesperson Le Hai Binh made the statement at a Foreign Ministry press briefing in Hanoi on April 21 in reply to reporters’ question regarding Vietnam's reaction to the US Department of State's Annual Human Rights Reports 2015.

The Annual Human Rights Report 2015 of the US Department of State has acknowledged Vietnam's achievements in ensuring human rights. However, it was still based on erroneous and biased information on the enforcement of human rights in the country.

Vietnam’s consistent policy is to respect and promote people’s fundamental rights. The country’s tremendous achievements in ensuring and improving human rights over recent years have earned recognition from the international community, the official said.

"Vietnam is ready to conduct frank and open dialogues with other countries including the United States on differing issues thereby narrowing the differences and promoting understanding as a contribution to strengthening the comprehensive partnership between the two nations,” Binh added.
