The signing ceremony was held as part of the International Forum "Russian Energy Week" taking place in Moscow, with signatories including Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien and Russian Energy Minister Nikolai Grigorievich.
At the event, Minister Dien affirmed that Russia represents a comprehensive strategic partner in multiple fields, including the energy sector, noting that the signing of the co-operation deals demonstrates consistency in the two countries' development priorities such as the energy and oil and gas sectors.
Minister Dien therefore called on relevant ministries of the two countries to further co-operate closely and promptly remove obstacles in a bid to ensure the smooth and effective implementation of the agreements, thereby further contributing to the socio-economic development of each country and the special friendly relationship between the two sides.
For his part, Russian Minister Grigorievich underscored the importance of the event, noting that the Russian side will extend the collaboration deal with the VietsoPetro Joint Venture until 2033.
With regard to the RusPetro Joint Venture, the oil fields being exploited will continue to enjoy a preferential tax rate, he added.
The same day Minister Dien met with representatives of Russian companies, namely Novatek Group, Gazprom International Company, and leaders from relevant Russian ministries.
