This development was highlighted during the June 2024 conference of the Ministry of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs (MoLISA), chaired by Minister Dao Ngoc Dung.
During the conference, Minister Dung underscored the importance of institutional building as a key metric for evaluating the performance of the Ministry's units.
He stressed the need for the rapid completion of three critical decrees related to regional minimum wages, benefits for meritorious individuals, and social protection beneficiaries, especially in light of the upcoming wage reform and adjustments to regional minimum wages set to take effect on July 1.
Additionally, he called for transparency in the issuance of permits for foreign workers, labor safety, and other state-managed permits through the one-stop agency.
Mr. Vu Xuan Han, Chief of the Ministry's Office, reported on the labor and employment situation for the first half of 2024. Key achievements included:
- Providing job counseling and referrals to over 795,000 individuals.
- Offering vocational training support to more than 8,000 people.
- Successfully sending over 65,000 workers abroad, achieving 52.7% of the 2024 target.
These efforts contributed to increased employment and income levels compared to the previous year.
The Ministry also implemented policies to support revolutionary contributors, social assistance beneficiaries, and recipients of social and unemployment insurance. Over 3.3 million people received social subsidies.
In collaboration with the Ministry of Finance, six decisions were reviewed and appraised, leading to the distribution of over 13,000 tons of rice to nearly 150,000 households across 19 provinces, benefiting nearly 900,000 individuals.
