Vietnam’s national futsal team beat Spain’s UMA club 2-0 on penalties in a friendly match during their training in Spain on August 23.

The Southeast Asian team were trailing 0-1 after the first half, before Tran Van Vu equalised the score in the 30th minute.

UMA again took the lead a few minutes later after a counter-attack.

But Tran Thai Huy levelled the score again with a shot from a narrow angle.

In the penalty shootout, Huy and Captain Nguyen Bao Quan scored one each, while UMA failed.

Vietnam earlier lost 1-4 to the Spanish national team on August 20.

They will next play JAEN club, who won the local championship last year, on August 26.

The friendly matches are part of the team’s plan in preparation for their World Cup campaign in Colombia next month.
