Vietnamese Minister of Public Security To Lam and his visiting Chinese counterpart Guo Shengkun shared the wish for stronger links between the two ministries in the future, contributing to the friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the two nations.

The two ministers expressed the wish at their talks held in Hanoi on September 25 during Minister Guo Shengkun’s working visit to Vietnam.

They said the relations between the two countries in general and the two ministries in particular have been expanded continually with positive results made in many fields.

Minister To Lam congratulated China on great achievements in national construction, adding that the Chinese Ministry of Public Security has made significant contributions to safeguarding national security, social order and safety.

Later the same day, the two ministers co-chaired the fifth conference on anti-crime cooperation between the two ministries, during which they set forth cooperation orientations from now until 2018, and signed a memorandum of understanding on the outcomes of the conference.

Accordingly, the two sides will continue the exchange of visits along with promoting the sharing of information and experience and cooperation in ensuring security and legal enforcement, as well as in fighting conspiracies and activities of hostile and reactionary forces.

They will also strengthen collaboration in combating organised and transnational crimes, especially terrorism, cyber attack, human trafficking and drug crimes.
