This is the first time the Vietnam People’s Navy has sent a warship to international manoeuvres.
Between May 2 and 15, the ship will participate in a marine security drill in Brunei and an anti-terror drill in Singapore.
The drills will gather 19 warships and 15 aircraft from ADMM+ members.
The ADMM+ Maritime Security and Counterterrorism Exercise was developed based on the ADMM+ Humanitarian Assistance/Disaster Relief and Military Medicine Exercise held in Brunei in 2013.
The ADMM+ is a platform for ASEAN and its eight Dialogue Partners – Australia, China, India, Japan, New Zealand, the Republic of Korea, Russia and the US – to strengthen security and defence cooperation.
