Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Tuc signed the prime ministerial decision allowing Thuc to leave his post and cease working at his own request.

The decision took effect on September 23, the date it was signed.

Thuc was born on September 16, 1973, and comes from Cat Tan commune in the former Phu Cat district of Binh Dinh province.

He holds a doctorate in internal medicine, a specialist level II medical qualification and a bachelor’s degree in English, as well as an advanced qualification in political theory.

Thuc previously served as deputy secretary of the Party Committee for grassroots-level agencies under the Ministry of Health, and as Party secretary and director of Cho Ray Hospital in HCMC. He was also a deputy in Vietnam’s 15th National Assembly.

He was appointed deputy minister of health by the prime minister in June 2024.
